Waleska, GA – The Cherokee County Educational Foundation (CCEF) proudly hosted its 3rd Annual Sporting Clays Classic on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the scenic Garland Mountain Sporting Clays and Grill in Waleska, Georgia. The event brought together community members, business leaders, and shooting enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition and fundraising in support of local education.
Presented by Batson-Cook Construction and Northside Hospital Cherokee, the event featured a full day of activities, including a grab-and-go breakfast, 100-target shooting course, catered lunch, and a player gift bag. Participants enjoyed the beautiful outdoor setting while supporting a meaningful cause.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors and participants, the event raised $80,000 to benefit educational programs, scholarships, and classroom resources for students across the Cherokee County School District.
A highlight of the day was the "BBQ and Bluegrass" lunch, featuring a live performance by local favorite Kurt Lee Wheeler. His soulful bluegrass set provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing midday break, adding a festive and community-centered atmosphere to the event.
