As the 2025–2026 school year approaches, it's time to lace up your running shoes and join us for one of Cherokee County's most beloved traditions — the 11th Annual Chick-fil-A Cherokee County 5K! Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 16th, 2025, and get ready to run, walk, or cheer your way through a morning of fun, fitness, and community spirit. 

Formerly known as the Moo've It 5K, this event has raised over $200,000 for the Cherokee County Educational Foundation (CCEF) and Cherokee County Special Olympics. Your participation helps fund impactful programs like Impact Grants and Rapid Grants , empowering teachers and staff to make a difference in classrooms across the district.

What to Know Before Race Day

Whether you're a seasoned runner or a first-time participant, here are a few tips to help you make the most of race day:

  1. Dress the Part – Wear comfortable, breathable clothing and supportive running shoes.
  2. Rest Up – A good night's sleep will help you feel energized and ready to go.
  3. Hydrate – Start drinking water the day before and bring a bottle with you to stay cool in the Georgia heat.
  4. Bring Your Crew – Invite friends and family to run with you or cheer you on — the more, the merrier!

Race Options for Everyone

This year's race is once again an Official Peachtree Road Race Qualifying Event, and there's a category for everyone:

  • 5K Run – Starts at 8:00 AM
  • 1-Mile "Calf Run" – Starts at 9:00 AM
  • Nugget Roll – Free fun run for kids ages 2–4
  • Ghost Runner – Can't make it in person? Sign up to support the cause and still receive your race shirt (pickup only)
